Does your homeschool student want to be an engineer?
Competition for the top engineering
schools is fierce — but now you can give your homeschool students an edge that will
set them apart.
Catapult Engineering Academy’s unique online curriculum can help make your high-school
student’s “engineering dream” come true. Since this four-year curriculum
was introduced in a traditional classroom setting 11 years ago, more than 70% of its 300+
graduates have pursued engineering degrees. Another 15% have entered other STEM fields.
These young men and women are doing amazing things in and out of the classroom and now
in the workforce.
We’re writing to you to let you know that the same unique, proven Catapult Engineering
Academy courses are now available in an online format to homeschool students everywhere.
“One of the best aspects of the Catapult Engineering Academy program and its high
expectations is that students enter college with a head start.”
Nels Madsen, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
and Academy Award Winner, Auburn University
Why does it work?
Catapult Engineering Academy’s online courses are so successful
because they are designed to mirror the first two years of college.
Our courses truly prepare students for a seamless transition after high school.
Because our curriculum is built on our knowledge of high school, college, and the
engineering profession,
Catapult’s courses are just what your student needs
for his or her college application to stand out. As a bonus, students who have
taken our courses have a real “head start” on good grades once they
arrive in college.
The designer and teacher of the Catapult courses,
Dr. Mark Conner,
is an engineer who has
been teaching high school since 1996. Dr. Conner has 10 years of experience teaching
undergraduate engineering courses, so he knows what future engineering students need
to learn, and exactly how to teach it.

With Catapult, students
engage in
real-world, hands-on projects.
They
explore
concepts that they will see again in college. And, they
develop a breadth of the
hard and soft
skills that form a strong foundation for both academic and vocational success.
Catapult students become
proficient in software tools — such as
SolidWorks, MATLAB, and LabVIEW — that are standard in engineering education and
industry. They also
develop communication skills prized by
future employers and college professors, through our courses’ emphasis on
both formal and informal writing and speaking.
Here’s what homeschool parents say about our program:
“It is important that he is doing things that engineers really do, learning real
skills. I love the idea of better preparing students and giving them the skills that they
need to be successful.”
“The level of challenge allows students to appreciate the rewards for hard work.
We felt that the courses were challenging but well balanced.”
“I can’t believe how much he has learned”
“I can’t tell you how much he is enjoying learning this program.”
Real People Are There to Support Your Student
We want to make sure that our students and their parents are successful. So our courses are accessible to students 24/7 and supported by uniquely qualified Teaching Assistants.
Our TAs are all graduates of the curriculum and are available through a cooperative relationship with
Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. Their job is to
help students through face-to-face check-ins (online), regular email correspondence,
and timely feedback on assignments. Our students build great relationships with their
TAs, and parents are quick to praise the value our TAs add.
“I love the TA we were assigned! Very prompt response to questions and emails.
Extremely helpful! I love that the instruction is set up online and the fact that
between the TA and my son, the need for me was minimal. I was extremely grateful that
everything was graded for me!”
“The Teaching Assistant was incredibly professional and was always quick to
respond to questions with an answer or an offer to Skype with the student. If she
didn’t know the answer right away, she got back to us in a timely manner. This
personal component and interaction was very beneficial and key to making the online
format work well and to set it apart from a canned curriculum.”
